1 Dollar 1 Hour, typically spelled with numbers but, also with letters as "One Dollar One Hour", is a sub-series of Funhaus', normally under the "Gameplay" title. The show tests Sean "Spoole" Poole's theory that a game can be defined as monetarily "good" if a player gets 1 hour of playtime at least for every US$1 spent on the game.[2] For example, a player should expect 60 hours of gameplay from a US$60 game. Generally, the Funhaus crew were skeptical of this concept and challenged the idea by comparing it to the cost to see movies or the cost of building a computer.[3]
This series puts Spoole's philosophy into practice. The show's concept was possibly skewed, as Spoole would be given a dollar balance in the show, despite it not being part of his own concept. In the show, fractions of hours are converted into cents. From the combination of time restraint, low quality, and cheap games, Spoole would typically be given a negative dollar amount. In episode 9, Spoole attempts to negate this by selecting a free game.[4]
The series has concluded subsequently after Sean Poole's resignation from Funhaus.
