Template:Infobox showAchievement Hunter Weekly Update, or AHWU, is a weekly series published by Rooster Teeth. It is hosted by Geoff Ramsey and Jack Pattillo, and features a rundown of new game releases as well as game news for the week. It airs Mondays on AchievementHunter.com as well as Achievement Hunter's YouTube channel (formerly on the RoosterTeeth channel). The series is primarily popular not for its news aspect, but for what goes on in the background of the videos.

Segments

The show "Achievement Hunter Weekly Update" opens with a 5-10 second clip introducing the show that is created by a different member of the RT community each week. The content of this clip varies from week to week and may be 3D computer animation, a song, or clips from previous AHWUs.

The show then has someone proclaim what the episode number of the show is. Originally this was announced by a member of the RT staff or famous members of the gaming community, but recently this has shifted to members of the RT community sending in clips of themselves saying the number in notable locations, such as on the Great Wall of China or in front of Old Faithful.

Geoff will then give a brief rundown of any new games, both retail and on the Xbox Live Arcade that are coming out over the next week, as well as any new DLC packs coming out that will add achievements.

During this segment, Geoff will choose an "Achievement of the Week", one achievement coming out that week (either in a new game or DLC) that he finds particularly notable for some reason. Early on he would pick a "Fuck You Achievement of the Week" that was particularly challenging, but more recent episodes frequently have him choose an achievement that either contains a reference to an old movie he likes or a double-entendre about genitalia.

Then, for the second half of the video, Jack will talk about notable news in the gaming world, opening with the phrase "As far as news goes this week...". In addition to stating the news, he will add his opinion of what going on. However, his opinions are generally noncommital phrases such as "So that's interesting" or "We'll have to wait and see."

The final section will have Geoff say what the "video of the week" is, which is usually from a Let's Play that was aired that week. Then there is another montage of RT community saying which AHWU it is and where they are.

AHWU News/Team Lads Action News/Dynamite News

Team Lads Action News, is what usually happens to AHWU when Jack isn't in the office. Michael Jones, Gavin Free, and Ray Narvaez, Jr. will take the camera and mic and run around the Rooster Teeth office, asking about what's going on and just generally annoying people. Team Lads Action News normally visits Lindsay and Ryan, along with going upstairs to check on the store. They also visit several other places at the RT office.

The first episode to feature the segment was AHWU 158. It has returned for AHWU 170, 187, 191, 195, 233, and 251.

In AHWU 195, Gavin apparently chloroformed Jack to get TLAN running for the day. In the same episode, JJ, Blaine, and others created a barricade with their chairs to prevent the lads from escaping, although the lads easily managed to get through it.

As of AHWU 282[1], TLAN appears to have been replaced with Dynamite News, starring Gavin Free and Michael Jones following the departure of Ray from Rooster Teeth.
